Meet Koster Buss
Koster Buss’s connection to Iowa began long before Schmidt Brothers Roofing opened its Ankeny location. Born and raised in Iowa, Koster started working for his father’s construction company in 2010 and has remained in the construction industry ever since.
After graduating from Iowa State University, Koster continued building his experience in construction, roofing sales, project management, and customer service. His career eventually brought him to Schmidt Brothers Roofing in Minnesota, where he gained valuable experience helping homeowners navigate roof inspections, insurance claims, material selections, construction, and final project completion.
When the opportunity arose to lead Schmidt Brothers Roofing’s expansion into Central Iowa, Koster saw it as an opportunity to return home and build something lasting in the state that shaped him.
Today, Koster serves as District Manager for the Ankeny and greater Des Moines area. He and his wife are building their family, their careers, and their future in Ankeny. Their goal is not simply to have a business location, but to be long-term members of the community and remain in the area for the rest of their lives.
For Koster, every project carries added meaning. The homeowners Schmidt Brothers Roofing serves are his neighbors, and the communities where the company works are the same communities where he and his family are putting down roots. His goal is to build a roofing company known throughout Central Iowa for honest communication, dependable service, quality workmanship, and relationships that last long after the roof is complete.
